What you can expect when you plan with us.
No badges or star counts here. These are the working practices behind every trip we run in Darjeeling and Sikkim, and the things we deliberately do not do.
How we run a mountain journey.
Each of these comes from a real problem we see travellers run into on the ground.
-
A private vehicle for your party only
No shared jeeps and no waiting for strangers at a viewpoint. The vehicle and driver are assigned to your group for the duration of the trip, and the vehicle type is matched to the route. High-altitude sectors use vehicles suited to steep, broken roads.
-
Drivers who grew up on these roads
Mountain driving here means landslide diversions, single-lane stretches, fog on the ridge and early starts for the passes. Local drivers read those conditions. They also know where to stop for a clean washroom and a hot meal.
-
Permits handled through the proper channels
Nathula Pass, Tsomgo Lake and North Sikkim need Protected Area Permits filed through registered operators. We tell you exactly which documents to send, check them before you travel, and confirm the permit status the evening before.
-
Itineraries paced for altitude
Gangtok sits at about 1,650 m and Nathula at about 4,310 m. We build in a night at a middle altitude before high passes and avoid back-to-back pre-dawn starts, especially for children, older travellers and anyone with heart or breathing conditions.
-
Itemised quotes, no surprise add-ons
Your written quote lists the vehicle, each night's stay, permit fees, taxes and what is not included. If something on the ground changes, such as a closed pass or a road diversion, we explain the cost difference before you agree to it.
-
Honest seasonal advice
We will tell you when not to go. Peak monsoon closures, winter snow on the passes and festival crowds all change what is realistic. Good advice sometimes means a different month or a different route.

Some promises are better left unmade.
- Publish invented reviews, ratings or traveller numbers.
- Promise that Nathula, Gurudongmar or Zero Point will be open on your date. The Army and state government decide that, often the evening before.
- Add sightseeing points just to make an itinerary look full.
- Ask you to pay into a personal account. Payment details are confirmed in writing and on our phone line.
